Born Anjani Thomas, she attended Berklee College of Music in Boston before moving to New York City. During the early '80s she performed around Manhattan, by and by meeting legendary singer/songwriter Leonard Cohen. Subsequent tours and recording exploit with Cohen on such albums as his 1988 tone finish I'm Your Man and 1992's The Future light-emitting diode to Anjani's number 1 self-titled solo album released in 2000. A year afterward she released the spiritually given The Sacred Names. Once again teaming up with co-writer and producer Cohen, Anjani released Blue Alert on Sony in 2006. |
